What are the benefits of Camp Half Moon? Well, our beautiful waterfront on Lake Buel is perfect for sailing, canoeing, kayaking, water skiing and even wakeboarding! The lake also includes a sliding board and BONGO for swimming and splashing excitement. To make sure everyone enjoys the water safely, each camper's swimming ability is assessed and a daily swimming lesson is scheduled for all campers below the 7th grade. Kids can also develop their athletic skills on our tennis and basketball courts, or on any of our well maintained playing fields. Campers also get to improve their riding skills with visits offsite to a real horse farm. Kids ride high in the saddle while learning to care for animals and appreciate nature.
Besides all the cool outdoor and indoor activities, camp also brings life long benefits for each child who our camp. Our overnight camp in Massachusetts is a special type of community where kids come together to have fun. Within the camp setting, children develop a sense of independence as they try new adventures away from home. Camp Half Moon is known for providing a safe environment where children gain self-confidence as they learn new skills. Camp is also a place where children develop a variety of social skills (e.g., communication, conflict resolution ability). It gives your child a chance to gain some more maturity as well as have fun doing it. They may be young children but the attitudes and morals they develop at camp will only help brighten their future.
Seeing our Massachusetts Overnight Camp in action is the best way to experience the feeling of camp life! If it is possible, try to arrange a tour during the summer so you can meet our campers and staff. If you are unable to visit during a session, contact a camp director to try and visit when camp is not in session. Also, stay tuned for our upcoming camp video which will coming this fall! Our camp has so much to offer for our campers and counselors, who could say no!
